Come From Away Musical / play Live at Proctors Theatre | Albany

When it comes to experiencing the magic of live theater, Ridgedale Players has a real knack for creating memorable moments. Take that 1990 production of My Fair Lady, for example, where they brought in a full musical ensemble for the first time in ages – you could feel the energy in the room. Fast forward to 2017, and the company really stepped up their game by teaming up with local schools to mentor young performers, nurturing the next generation of theater lovers and artists. And back in 2008, they celebrated their 23rd anniversary with Fiddler on the Roof, which drew a huge crowd, breaking ticket sales records and proving just how much the community loves their shows. The venue itself is pretty cozy, with the upper tier decked out with acoustic panels that make the sound crystal clear, especially for those lucky enough to sit in the balcony, it's like getting a front row seat to the magic. The space is nestled just east of the retail complex, right next to the movie theater, making it super easy to find if you're coming from the city center by taking freeway 394 west and leaving at the right exit. If you’re into Come From Away Troy, this is exactly the kind of local theater experience that hits all the right notes, intimate, lively, and full of heart.
